STOICISM presented in 13th Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA) Meeting on in Nancy, France.
The theme for the SGA 13th edition was “Mineral Resources in a Sustainable World”. The SGA was founded in 1965 in Heidelberg and the 2015 SGA meeting celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Society. Mr. Dehaine & Dr.
STOICISM presented in the MANUFUTURE conference in Luxembourg
The biannual conference on Innovation in Europe took place from 23 to 24 of November in Luxembourg city in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In line with the EU innovation objective to boost reindustrialisation and increase the manufacturing industry’s current GDP contribution from16% to as much as 20%, the MANUFUTURE event aimed at: 1. Assessing the manufacturing research and development progress in Europe compared with global competitors; 2. Define the conditions needed for successfully reindustrialising Europe; 3.
STOICISM presented in the 6th Aachen International Mining Symposium (AIMS 2014)
AIMS is a highly recognised platform of exchanges and promotes the transfer of information from technology developers, universities, applied research and issues related to the overall operations within the mining industry. During the last AIMS2014 event 11-12 of June 2014, delicated to High Performance mining, STOICISM project was introduced as a platform presentation in the session “Sustainability issues in Mining“. Dr.
STOICISM presented in IOM3 conference “Minerals and Metals Production from Mine to Market” in Cambridge, UK.
Ms. Adriana Guatame-Garcia (TU Delft) and Mr. Luke Palmer (University of Exeter), as part of STOICISM consortium, respectively presented the contributions:
- “Determination of the origin of fine particles generated during the processing of perlite ore”
- “Ore Characterisation of Perlite for Process Optimisation”
in the IOM3 conference “Minerals and Metals Production from Mine to Market” that took place on December 15-16 2015 in Cambridge (UK).
IMA-2014 in South Africa (September 2014)
STOICISM presented in the International Mineralogical Association – (IMA 2014) meeting in South Africa
21st General Meeting of IMA-2014 event which took place in Johannesburg (1 - 5 September 2014) is a dedicated event to the topical mineralogical expert discussions. The conference aims to provide an inspirational platform to promote the benefits early mineralogical studies and the processing stages can bring to the mining industry.
STOICISM presented in Sensor Based Sorting and Control (SBSC2016) conference in Aachen Germany
Ms. Adriana Guatame-Garcia (TU Delft) as part of STOICISM consortium, presented the contribution “Integrating LIBS and NIR for detection of heavy metals in perlite ores” at the 7th “Sensor Based Sorting and Control” conference that took place on 23-24 February 2016 in Aachen, (Germany). Her contribution presented the latest research findings on the characterization and processing stages of the perlite ore from various locations in Europe as part of the STOICISM FP7 project.
SRCR '14 took place in Falmouth
STOICISM presented in the Symposium on Sustainability through Resource Conservation & Recycling '14 (SRCR '14) Symposium (UK)
3rd International symposium on sustainability through resource conservation and recycling '14 (SRCR '14) took place in Falmouth (UK during 10-12 June 2014). The scope of the symposium is to facilitate the exchange of information between experts working on resources and their mineral processing & extractive metallurgy.
STOICISM presented in GeoMet 2016 conference in Perth, Australia
Prof. Hylke Glass (University of Exeter), as partner of the STOICISM consortium, presented the key note speech “Geometallurgy: driving innovation in the mining value chain” at the 3rd AusIMM International Geometallurgy conference” that took place on 15 - 17 of June 2016 in Perth (Australia). His contribution discussed geometallurgy as a promotor of the smart use of raw materials and resources through better allocation of the resource to processing options and products.
STOICISM was present in the Geometallurgy 2014 conference in London during June 9-10
Geometallurgy 2014 will address recent developments in this rapidly evolving discipline that aims to bridge the gap between geology and metallurgy by developing methods and tools that improve the efficiency of the recovery of metals and industrial minerals. The conference aims to provide an inspirational forum to promote the benefits that geometallurgy can bring to the mining industry.
