STOICISM presented in 13th Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA) Meeting on in Nancy, France.
24/08/2015 - 09:00 to 27/08/2015 - 18:00
The theme for the SGA 13th edition was “Mineral Resources in a Sustainable World”. The SGA was founded in 1965 in Heidelberg and the 2015 SGA meeting celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Society. Mr. Dehaine & Dr. Filippov on behalf of work carried out by the University of Lorraine, as part of STOICISM consortium, presented two contributions in: Session 13 “Processing of low grade ores” with the platform contribution “Gravity Processing of a low grade kaolin Residue for the recovery of rare earth elements (La,Ce, Nd) and rare metals (Sn,W,Nb)” and in the session dedicated to “Geometallurgy” the contribution “From Plant to Mine: a reverse approach to help resource estimation and geometallurgical modelling”. Their contributions presented during the sessions dedicated to Mineral processing and Geometallurgy presented the status of the actions and deliverables of the project using techniques to recover precious rare earth and metals form kaolin waste.
With 700 participants, from 60 countries and 212 platform and 300 poster presentations, the event was well attended and allowed for a fruitful exchange of ideas and networking opportunities.
