STOICISM presented in the 2nd Conference on Optical Characterization of Materials (OCM) in Germany

    11/03/2015

The 2nd Conference on Optical Characterization of Materials (OCM) is taking place in Karlsruhe, Germany on 18-19 March 2015 and is organized by the Karlsruhe Centre for Spectral Signatures of Materials (KCM) in cooperation with the German Chapter of the Instrumentation & Measurement Society of IEEE. The objective of this conference is to present and discuss new trends and developments in material characterization and share the latest highlights to identify spectral footprints and their use by the industry.

Adriana Guatame-Garcia (Delft University of Technology) presented to the audience the contribution “Visible and Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy for Characterization of Iron Impurities in Calcined Kaolin Clays” summarizing the results of using Reflectance Spectroscopy to determine the presence of iron impurities in calcined kaolin. The use of this characterization technique contributes to the understanding and timely control and optimisation of calcination of kaolin.

This event brings together about 150 participants from recycling and mineral industries and academy interested to share and discuss the new trends and developments in material characterization
